FOOD AVAILABLE FOR GALLEY DUTY.

From the 14th of Feb 2026 the following food options will be available

1. You can of course still choose to cook your own offerings on the morning of your duty in the club kitchen. If this is your option then please remember to cater for about 24 people and the sell price will be £5.00. All receipts should be placed in a envelope with your name, sort code and bank account number on the front. Please remember to post this in the Treasurer mail box located by the club main entrance.

2. We will also be providing a selection of ready made frozen meals, these will be available in the kitchen freezer. Full instructions will be available in the kitchen for cooking and serving. Frozen chip, mash potato and peas will also be available however you can also purchase additional side items for these meals. The sell price for these meals will be £5.00.

To start we will be offering the following options.

Cottage Pie - Serve with Chips and/or Side Salad (ask the buyer for their preference).

Beef Lasagna - Serve with Chips and/or Side Salad.

Macaroni Cheese - Serve with Chips and/or Side Salad.

Chicken Tikka & Rice - Serve with Mango Chutney and Poppadoms.

Steak Ragu Pappardelle - Serve with Chips and/or Side Salad.

Pasta Bolognese - Serve with Chips and/or Side Salad.

Important note on frozen food. Please do not remove from the freezer unless an order has been placed, these items cannot be refrozen when partially or fully defrosted. Also ensure they are fully cooked through and use the food thermometer that is in the utensil drawers. Insert the thermometer into the thickest part or the centre of the food (avoid edges, as those heat faster). The coldest part must reach at least 75°C.

Please bear in mind presentation is important, the images below are AI generated but they will hopefully show the type of presentation expected.

If you need to purchase extras such as frozen chips, baked beans, garlic bread the please do so, get the receipt and then put your bank details on the envelope provided in the top drawer (and put your receipts in). Post in the treasurer's box downstairs (next to the front door.)

3. You can also offer Paninis and/or toasted Sandwiches, however please bear in mind the sell price is also £5.00 so please serve with side salad, crisps and coleslaw, below is a AI generated example.

4. Also if you are going to offer a Ploughman's Lunch then please remember the sell price is still £5.00 so provide a good healthy portion along the lines of the AI generated image below.

If you have a galley duty coming up please email Kev your intentions at galley@fsmbc.org and I will ensure the kitchen freezer is stocked should you choose to use the ready frozen meals.

Should you decide to make your own meals or add extras such as bread, salad then please ensure you get receipts. All receipts should be placed in a envelope with your name, sort code and bank account number on the front. Please remember to post this in the Treasurer mail box located by the club main entrance.
