Winter Talk - The Cruising Association Cross Channel Regulations
Much has changed over the last couple of years in the formalities for crossing the Channel to France; and 2023 will see further changes.
This presentation will detail the changes which took place since 2019 for checking in and out of the Channel ports of France and the UK. There will be an explanation of how and why these changes were implemented which should aid their understanding as well as the experiences of members of the Cruising Association in their use. It will then look forward to the further changes scheduled for May 2023 and some of the uncertainties around these. Finally there will be the chance to ask questions and discuss the best plans for cross-Channel sailing in 2023 and beyond.
The presentation will be given by Bob Garrett who is Joint Channel Secretary for the Cruising Association. Bob has been closely involved in the CA's efforts to influence these formalities and explain to its members how to follow them. In 2022 he led a CA rally to France and also crossed the Channel 6 times; gaining some 9 stamps in his passport!
