Fareham Sailing & Motor Boat Club was founded in 1850 as a rowing club and has evolved over the years into a family-friendly club with a mix of cruising, racing and social members. The club has an active fleet of small luggers and these can be seen racing on Thursday evenings and on week-ends.

The Clubhouse is a characterfull listed building with an interesting history dating back to Napoleonic times when it was used as a prison hospital. There is a workshop facility available for the benefit of members with its own pontoon and mast hoist. In addition there are a number of lockers available within the workshop where members can store items of a non-flammable nature.

The club has a number of drying creek moorings and a small pontoon facility of 40 berths. There is currently a waiting list of about 10 years duration for the pontoon berths.

The club also has two pontoons for loading and unloading and visiting craft may, with permission, tie up to these pontoons.
